Diego Luna y Demian Bichir son invitados a integrarse a la Academia de Hollywood

Los actores mexicanos Demian Bichir y Diego Luna, la actriz franco-argentina Berenice Bejo (“The Artist”), el compositor español Alberto Iglesias y el director colombiano-mexicano Rodrigo García han sido invitados a integrarse a la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood.
El anuncio lo realizó hoy The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences mediante un comunicado de prensa recibido en la redacción de CinemaNet y CorreCamara.com. Bichir y Luna forman parte de una lista de 176 personalidades de la industria fílmica convidadas este año.

El comunicado dice que la Academia “ha extendido una invitación para unirse a la organización a 176 artistas y ejecutivos que se han distinguido por su contribución a la cinematografía. Aquellos que acepten serán las únicas adiciones en 2012 al cuerpo de miembros”
“Estos representantes del cine representan a algunos de los más talentosos y apasionados contribuyentes de la industria”, agrega el comunicado reproduciendo las palabras de Tom Sherak, presidente de la Academia.
Los miembros de este importante organismo del cine de Hollywood, que cada año otorga los premios Oscar, reúne como tope a 6 mil miembros desde 2003.
Otros de los convocados son los actores Tom Berenger, Lili Taylor, los cineastas Michel Hazanavicius (“El Artista”), Terrence Malick (“The Three of Life2), Wong Kar Wai ( “In the Mood for Love”)
Este año, Bichir fue nominado al Oscar como mejor actor por su participación en ‘A Better Life’ (2011), en tanto Luna ha intervenido desde hace varios años en distintas producciones de Hollywood. Rodrigo García, hijo del premio Nobel Gabriel García Márquez, hizo sus comienzos en México como director de fotografía en filmes como “Danzón” y desde hace años ha dirigido en Estados Unidos, entre cuyas cintas se encuentran “Mother and Child”.
Por su parte, Alberto Iglesias Fernández-Berridi, nacido en San Sebastián en 1955, ha escrito la música para diversas películas de cine españolas y extranjeras, y fue nominado en tres ocasiones a los Premios Óscar por El jardinero fiel (The Constant Gardener), Cometas en el cielo (The Kite Runner) y El topo (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).
